Privacy Policy
Hermes Assistant, operated by Home and Range LLC. Last updated 5 October 2026.
Hermes Assistant is a private automation that reads the Google Account of the operator of Home
and Range LLC and no one else's. This policy states exactly what it accesses, where that data goes,
and how to stop it.
Google user data accessed
With the owner's permission, and only for his own Google Account, the assistant uses:
- Gmail (
gmail.modify): message metadata and short snippets
(sender, recipient, subject, labels, list-unsubscribe headers, attachment presence), the
identifiers of the owner's own sent mail and the threads he has replied to, and the ability
to move messages to Trash.
- Google Calendar (
calendar.events): reading events on the primary
calendar to avoid creating duplicates, and creating events for appointments found in mail.
The assistant requests no other Google scopes. It does not request full mailbox access
(mail.google.com), Drive, Contacts, or any scope that would let it send mail.
How the data is used
- Message metadata and snippets are used solely to sort that mail into the owner's four tiers
and to write his morning summary.
- Calendar data is used solely to check for existing events and to create new ones.
- No data is used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or any purpose
unrelated to the assistant's mail and calendar sorting.
Where the data goes
- Nowhere else, with one exception you should know about: the metadata and
snippet of each new message are sent to the operator's configured large language model
provider (currently OpenRouter, openrouter.ai) to be
classified into a tier. That provider processes it to return the classification and is
contractually barred from using it to train models or for any other purpose.
- No data is sold, rented, or shared with any other third party.
- No data is used to train, fine-tune, or improve any model by the operator.
- No human other than the account owner reads the data.
Storage and retention
- OAuth credentials are stored as a single file on the owner's own computer, readable only by
his operating-system account.
- Per-run records (which messages were sorted, which were moved, which unsubscribes were
requested, and the counts) are stored on that same computer and retained as an audit trail.
- Message contents are not stored: a run keeps the metadata needed to classify the message at
that moment and does not retain a copy of the message.
- The audit trail can be deleted by the owner at any time; deleting it does not restore or
remove anything from his mailbox.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Hermes Assistant's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services
User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: data is used only to
provide the assistant's own mail and calendar sorting function for the account owner; it is not
transferred to others except as needed to provide that function (the classifier described above),
for security purposes, or to comply with applicable law; it is not used for advertising; and no
human reads it.
Your choices and how to stop it
- Revoke access: visit
myaccount.google.com/permissions,
select Hermes Assistant, and remove access. The assistant stops immediately and permanently
until access is granted again.
- Ask about your data: write to
contactamadeo@gmail.com. Because this is a
single-user tool, the person who answers is the operator, and requests are answered
within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If the assistant's data practices change, this page is updated and the date above changes. As
the assistant has exactly one user, he is the only person who needs to be told.
